As its founder and Chairman of The Dawson Company, Harold A. Dawson, Sr. is provides general oversight and serves as the moral compass of the firm.

With over 50 years of real estate and development experience, Mr. Dawson, an Atlanta native, remains a legendary figure in the industry, while maintaining an integral voice in all projects undertaken by the Dawson Company. His early vision for a transformational real-estate management company established the template for the Dawson Company to emerge as one of America’s leading developers of urban infill, mixed-use, transit-oriented, urban infill developments.

As an industry leader, Mr. Dawson served as the first and only African-American President of the Association of Real Estate License Law Officials and the first African-American Commissioner and Chairman of the Georgia Real Estate Commission. His tireless service and charitable contributions to the community have been recognized at the highest levels including the Southern Christian Leadership Conference’s ‘Drum Major for Justice Award’ and the ‘Business and Development Award’ from the National Association of Real Estate Brokers.

Mr. Dawson Sr. received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Morehouse College in 1963 and was licensed by the Georgia Real Estate Commission in 1957.
